Positive Discipline
Positive Discipline, which is neither punitive nor permissive, teaches important important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults, based on firmness and kindness applied at the same time.
The Oasis International School has chosen Positive Discipline as a global educational approach from 2015/2016. Since 2018, it is the only school in Egypt authorized to apply Positive Discipline under the international quality label "Positive Discipline Lab School", awarded by the american association of Positive Discipline.
For the Oasis International School to implement Positive Discipline in general, teachers and staff receive Positive Discipline training. As part of the weekly Classroom Meeting, activities are given to teach important social and emotional skills to our learners, like problem solving skills or self-regulation skills. Parents are integrated into the process through regular and continuous training.
A group of more than 40 teachers, parents and administrators became Certified Positive Discipline Educators following a training course delivered at the school by Dr. Jane Nelsen, the founder of the Positive Discipline Association and the author of many books.
