We have a long-standing engagement in community learning with open learning spaces, promoting the inclusion and agency of all our learners across the four IB programmes.

Our approach is holistic, as our learners' agency skills develop progressively throughout the programmes. From an early age, they become accustomed to taking charge of their learning in a variety of spaces that meet their individual needs. Agency can be defined as "the ability and propensity to take deliberate initiative" (Harvard: The Influence of Teaching Beyond Standardized Test Scores: Engagement, Mindsets, and Agency). In fact, by offering our learners the opportunity to take control of their own learning, they demonstrate greater engagement and motivation, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding.
